Ofer military court on Sunday decided to extend the detention of the Palestinian prisoner Ibtihal Barwish 18 following an earlier decision by the same court to release her on bail.
Lawyer of the Palestinian Prisoner Society Akram Samara said that the Israeli prosecution had filed an appeal against the court’s earlier decision to release Barwish and therefore the court of appeal decided to extend her detention until further investigation is conducted.
Samara added that Barwish is scheduled to appear again before court on 6th June.
The Israeli occupation forces arrested Barwish on 25th April during a fight with an Israeli settler who attempted to attack her and a group of friends near Palestine Technical University (Kadoorie) in al-Arroub refugee camp in al-Khalil.
