Israeli court extends prisoner Manasra’s solitary confinement

Tuesday 16-August-2022

The Israeli court in Beersheba decided to extend Ahmad Manasra’s solitary confinement for another six months during a court session on Tuesday the Asra Media Office reported.

According to lawyer Khaled Zabarqa the extension of Manasra’s solitary confinement started on the 21st of May 2022 and is supposed to end on the 21st of November 2022 despite his deteriorating mental condition.

Lawyer Zabarqa held Israel responsible for the severe mental health condition of prisoner Manasra which was further exacerbated due to his continued solitary confinement in addition to the Israeli policy of medical neglect.

Prisoner Manasra has been recently transferred from Eshel prison in Beersheba to the isolation section of Shikma prison in Ashkelon.

21-year-old Ahmad from Beit Hanina in Occupied Jerusalem was only a 13 years old child when he was arrested and interrogated under horrific circumstances which inflicted him with the devastating mental illness of schizophrenia.
