An Israeli appeal court overturned on Wednesday evening a ruling by a lower magistrate court which had stirred Palestinian anger by questioning the legality of barring Jewish prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque.
The court’s order overturned the Israeli Magistrate court’s decision which was issued last Sunday allowing Jewish settlers to perform Talmudic rituals during their provocative raids into the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Sunday’s court order considered intoning Jewish prayer “does not raise worry of harm befalling national security public safety or individual security”.
However a counter-appeal was submitted on Wednesday with Jerusalem District Court which overturned the Magistrate’s ruling.
Commenting on the court’s ruling Hamas Movement affirmed that it will never allow Jewish settlers to desecrate al-Aqsa Mosque and perform Talmudic prayers in its courtyards regardless of the cost stressing that the holy site belongs exclusively to the Muslim nation.
