Israeli courts sentence Palestinian children to prison-terms bails

The Israeli occupation courts sentenced Palestinian children in the Ofer lock-up to prison-terms and steep fines of up to 54000 shekels during October a lawyer reported Sunday.

A lawyer from the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) quoted the detained minors’ spokesperson Luay Al-Mansi as stating that the Israeli occupation authorities issued prison-terms against 23 Palestinian children for periods varying from one month to 13 months.

39 minors arrested by the Israeli occupation army in October have been locked up in the Ofer jail ten detainees among whom have reportedly been subjected to heavy beating during the detention stage.

145 Palestinian minors are currently held in Ofer prison. Some 213 others are currently locked up in other Israeli penitentiaries across the occupied territories or subjected to house confinement.
