The Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem notified the al-Rajabi family on Sunday that their building in Silwan south of the Aqsa Mosque will be demolished under the pretext of construction without permit.
Press sources in Jerusalem reported that the Israeli municipality handed the al-Rajabi family a notice ordering the demolition of their two-story building containing five apartments in Ein al-Louza neighborhood of Silwan.
Faris al-Rajbi said in a press statement that the Israeli municipality delivered a demolition notice against their two-story building sheltering forty people including his parents three siblings and their children under the pretext of construction without permit. He confirmed that he and his family have no other place to go to.
His brother Zuhair said “On the first day of Eid al-Fitr Israeli police informed me via a phone call to self-demolish our building shortly after the Eid or else municipality crews would demolish it. I refused self-demolition.”
The Israeli municipality in the occupied city issued 6817 demolition orders and 53 eviction orders of Palestinian-owned structures in Silwan neighborhoods over the past few years.
