Israeli occupation to grab hold of Palestinian lands in Burin

Thursday 8-March-2018

The Israeli occupation authorities on Thursday notified the confiscation of Palestinian lands in Nablus’s southern town of Burin in the northern West Bank.

Activist Ghassan Dughlas in charge of the settlement file in the northern occupied West Bank said the IOA threatened to hold sway over 751 dunums of Palestinian lands near Burin’s Secondary School under the security pretext.

Maps attached to the confiscation note show that the targeted land will be used to build an apartheid fence separating the local school and the southern thoroughfare.

A couple of months earlier the occupation authorities leveled Palestinian lands in the area to build the separation fence. Palestinian locals managed to stop the construction works shortly afterwards.

Last week the IOA threatened to grab hold of 24 dunums of Palestinian lands in Burin to establish a settlement road linking Brakha illegal settlement and an Israeli military site to the west of the town.
