Israeli police on Tuesday arrested a Palestinian citizen working as a guard of al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and banned him from entering the site for one week.
Aqsa guard Hamza Nemer was arrested on Tuesday evening at the Dome of the Rock mosque after he confronted an Israeli police raid on al-Aqsa compound and transferred him to al-Qishla interrogation center.
A few hours later Nemer was released after being handed an order to appear before the Israel Intelligence Service for interrogation on 26 May and stay away from al-Aqsa Mosque for one week.
This is the third time Nemer has been arrested by the Israeli police since the start of 2020.
