The Israeli police on Monday decided to ban a Palestinian woman from entering al-Aqsa Mosque for two weeks.
Palestinian lawyer Khaled Zabarqa said that Samah Ghazzawi was arrested by the Israeli police on Sunday before an order banning her from entering the holy site was later issued.
Zabarqa told Quds Press that Ghazzawi was arrested for being present in al-Rahma Gate area during a settler break-in into al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Israeli police arrested Ghazzawi near al-Asbat Gate one of al-Aqsa Mosque gates and transferred her to al-Qashla detention center for interrogation.
The Israeli police over the past two months have banned the entry of 15 Palestinians into al-Aqsa Mosque for different periods under different pretexts.
