Israeli police banish Jerusalemite woman from Aqsa and Old City

Sunday 7-February-2021

The Israeli occupation police have banned Jerusalemite activist Fatima Khader a 63-year-old from Beit Hanina town in east Jerusalem from entering the Old City and the Aqsa Mosque for six months.

The Israeli police kidnaped Khader on January 21 after ransacking her home in Beit Hanina but they released her soon later on condition of staying away from the Old City for one week.

In January 2021 the Israeli police banished 13 Jerusalemite citizens including Islamic Awqaf employees from the Aqsa Mosque and the Old City for different periods.

Despite the fact that they have no jurisdiction over the Islamic holy site the Israeli occupation authority and its police in Jerusalem give themselves the right to issue Aqsa entry bans against Muslim worshipers and take upon themselves to decide who can and cannot pray at the Mosque.

According to signed agreements Jordan is the custodian of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
