The Israeli occupation police on Thursday extended an order banning Sheikh Ekrima Sabri the head of the Higher Islamic Council in Jerusalem from entering the Aqsa Mosque for another four months.
“Israeli police raided my home on Thursday and handed me an order banning me from entering the Aqsa Mosque for four months” Sheikh Ekrima Sabri told Anadolu Agency.
“Silencing others and targeting the Aqsa Mosque is the nature of the Israeli occupation whose actions violate the freedom of worship and contradict the claim that it is a democratic state” he said.
“However we will stay with al-Aqsa and we will defend al-Aqsa” he added.
The Israeli police accuse Sheikh Sabri of incitement because of his positions aimed at preserving the Islamic identity of the Aqsa Mosque.
Last January the police handed him a similar order that banished him from the Aqsa for four months.
