Sunday 29-December-2019

The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said that the Israeli occupation police decided on Sunday to release a number of Palestinians who were kidnaped at dawn from their homes in Issawiya district in east Jerusalem.

According to the Commission’s lawyer Mohamed Mahmoud the released citizens were warned that participating in attacking police forces in Issawiya or allowing their kids to do so would result in withdrawing their IDs.

The detainees have been identified as Zakariya Aliyan Sami Obaid Murad Obaid Fadi Moustafa Marwan Dari Samer Obaid Mahmoud Kayed Jamal Atiya Mohamed Zahra Mahmoud Naser and Fadi Aliyan.

For many months Israeli police forces have been raiding the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya on a daily basis ransacking homes and arresting and assaulting Palestinians.

The Israeli campaign against Issawiya is aimed at oppressing and making life miserable for all who live there as part of efforts to push the native residents out of the holy city
