The Israeli police launched on Saturday a large-scale arrest campaign targeting dozens of Palestinian youths in Occupied Jerusalem.
Amjad Abu Asab head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee said that most of the detainees were released prisoners who had previously been arrested on cases related to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Abu Asab pointed out that the arrests coincided with the nightfall of the 27th of Ramadan as well as the celebration of the so-called Israeli “unification of Jerusalem” day.
He explained that these arrests aim to empty Jerusalem of its residents and allow the settlers to wreak havoc in it especially in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Calls continue for all Muslims in 1948 Occupied Palestine and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to frequent the holy site in large numbers especially on the 28th of Ramadan to repel the Jewish settlers’ anticipated massive incursion on that day.
