The Israeli occupation police on Tuesday evening stormed the house of Jerusalemite prisoner Majd Barbar in Silwan district and rearrested him one day after his release from the Negev jail.
The Red Crescent said that its ambulance crews provided help for 12 citizens who suffered from inhaling tear gas another one who was beaten and one with a rubber bullet injury when police forces attacked relatives and friends of prisoner Barbar in and outside his house.
Some of the injured citizens were transferred to a local hospital for medical assistance.
The Israeli occupation authority released Barbar last Monday after he completed his 20-year prison term but detained him for several hours at the Moskobiya detention center before letting him go.
Barbar had been arrested on March 30 2001 during a police campaign that targeted many Jerusalemite citizens before he was sentenced to 20 years in jails on charges of his affiliation with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and his role in resisting the occupation.
