The Israeli occupation police on Tuesday evening confiscated Ramadan meals intended for fasting Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque and set up road barriers in the Old City of Jerusalem.
According to local sources police officers seized quantities of fast-breaking meals from Palestinian volunteers in Bab al-Asbat area near the Aqsa Mosque and expelled them from the area a few moments before the sunset call to prayer was recited.
The meals were intended for distribution among fasting Muslim worshipers at the Mosque.
Meanwhile police officers cut off electric wires of some loudspeakers at the Aqsa Mosque in an attempt to silence sounds of Adhan (call to prayer) and Qur’an recitations during the holy month of Ramadan.
