Israeli police slap entry ban on Aqsa guard Isam Najeeb

Tuesday 5-January-2021

The Israeli occupation police on Tuesday issued an order banning Isam Najeeb who works for the Islamic Awqaf Administration in Jerusalem from entering the Aqsa Mosque for six months.

Najeeb an Aqsa Mosque guard said that he received the banishment order after he went to the Qishla police station in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Recently the Israeli police detained Najeeb during his work at the Aqsa Mosque and ordered him to stay away from the Islamic holy site for a week and to come back again today to receive a renewed Aqsa entry ban. He had been banished from the Aqsa Mosque multiple times before.

During 2020 the Israeli police banned 13 Aqsa guards and employees from entering the Mosque for different periods.

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) and its police in Jerusalem always give themselves the right to issue orders banning Muslim worshipers and Awqaf employees from entering the Aqsa Mosque and take upon themselves to decide who can and cannot pray at the Mosque despite the fact that they have no jurisdiction over the Islamic holy place.

According to signed agreements Jordan is the custodian of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
