Israeli settlers on Sunday ascended the holy Dome of the Rock at Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque—the third holiest site in Islam.
Israeli policemen escorted Israeli settlers as they defiled the Dome of the Rock.
The Islamic Endowment Department in Occupied Jerusalem strongly condemned the break-in which it said makes part of a preplanned Israeli scheme to Judaize the site.
Muslim guards at al-Aqsa tried to prevent the settlers from defiling the sacred Dome of the Rock. However the escorted Israelis paid no heed to their warnings.
