Sunday February 4 marks the 15th anniversary of the notorious Israeli massacre in Jenin refugee camp which claimed the lives of 58 Palestinians.
At the time of the massacre Jenin refugee camp had come under heavy shelling by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) using tanks and fighter jets.
A tough cordon had also been enforced on Jenin severing the city’s ties with its neighboring Palestinian towns and villages.
Following the massacre 58 Palestinians were pronounced dead up from 23 on the Israeli side in the course of the violent clashes that took place following the IOF onslaught.
On April 3 2002 the Israeli occupation army embarked on its atrocious Operation Preventive Edge that swept the West Bank.
A series of rallies and events is expected to be held across the occupied Palestinian territories and overseas to commemorate the Jenin massacre which marks a pivotal moment in the Palestinian anti-occupation struggle.
