The Kuwait Red Crescent Society launched on Wednesday a fundraising campaign to support the Palestinian people in the embattled Gaza Strip under the slogan “Gaza is in our hearts.”
Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) quoted Hilal as-Sayer chairman of the society’s board of directors as saying that the campaign “aims to help the families in the Gaza Strip in their plight and alleviate the pain and suffering that have afflicted them as a result of the repeated attacks by the Zionist entity.”
“This is part of the society’s national and humanitarian duty towards our Palestinian people to contribute albeit modestly to providing some relief and medical supplies fuel and vital needs for the hospitals in Gaza in order to mitigate the difficult humanitarian situation with regard to treating the wounded” Sayer added.
He pointed out that this campaign falls within the society’s ongoing role in supporting the Palestinian people’s steadfastness in the face of the Israeli violations calling for visiting the society’s website or going directly to its headquarters in the country to make donations for Gaza.
For its part the Turkish humanitarian relief foundation IHH also launched an urgent relief campaign for the Palestinians affected by the recent Israeli aggression against Gaza.
In a statement on Wednesday IHH said it had taken immediate measures to deliver emergency aid for the Gaza population affirming that its humanitarian efforts in Gaza are already ongoing.
IHH added that it recently provided Gaza hospitals with medicines and medical equipment and distributed cash aid food parcels and basic needs to the wounded citizens in hospitals.
It said it would provide more essential support for the affected citizens and the official authorities in Gaza in the coming days.
