Israeli police issued indictments on Saturday against 90 Palestinian detainees who were rounded up at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday according to lawyer Khaled Zabarka the leader of the detainees’ defense team.
Israeli police forces had arrested hundreds of worshippers during the Friday dawn raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“The 90 detainees are to stand trial at eight o’clock on Saturday evening. Israeli court might falsely charge them with ‘illegal entry into Israel’ extend their trials or place them under administrative detention” Zabarka said.
Minors and a group of youths were released on Friday evening leaving 90 detainees behind.
More than 160 Palestinians were injured after Israeli soldiers fired bullets and teargas bombs during the raid. At least 450 worshippers were arrested during the Friday dawn raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
