The Ministry of Culture and Arts opened on Wednesday an exhibition aimed at commemorating the Palestinian Land Day and reviving the Palestinian culture and traditional handicraft.
Um Mohammed al-Meghari one of the participants embroidered a Palestinian map with the names of occupied Palestinian cities including her original town on it.
She told the PIC reporter that she participated in the exhibition to “engrave the meaning of the land in the hearts of the future generations” appealing to them to work to liberate their country by achieving national unity.
For his part Muhannad Ahmad said that his participation in the exhibition came to commemorate the Land Day and revive the identity of the Palestinian people amid the current difficult circumstances.
Ahmad called on the Palestinian youths not to despair or surrender and to exert their efforts and creativity to liberate Palestine and resist the occupation.
During his opening speech Emad Siam the director of the Public Administration of the Cultural Affairs said that the goal behind organizing exhibitions for the Palestinian heritage is to instill the Palestinian question in the future generations.
Siam pointed out that the Public Administration of the Cultural Affairs is planning several projects and activities aimed at reviving the Palestinian history and identity including a series of plays that will kick off in Rashad al-Shawwa Cultural Center on 30th March 2017.
