Khaled Mishaal the head of the Hamas political bureau called on Wednesday on the world’s nations to seize the chance to communicate with Hamas and the Palestinian people and exert pressure on “intransigent” Israel after Hamas Movement announced its new policy document.
Mishaal said in an interview with CNN that what is included in Hamas’s policy document is enough for any country in the world to communicate with his Movement.
Mishaal believes that the new policy document will give the US administration led by Donald Trump a chance to realize the positive position of Hamas and that Trump is able to make a difference in dealing with the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Hamas Movement revealed on Monday its new policy document which includes the Movement’s political vision for the next stage. Hamas confirmed its refusal of any direct negotiations with Israel and its willingness to accept a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders under certain conditions.
Responding to the CNN reporter’s question about the possibility of stopping Hamas’s rocket attacks against Israel Mishaal said that his Movement does not practice violence but rather legitimate resistance against occupation.
