Alarm sirens sounded in the city of Nablus north of the West Bank at noon on Saturday in memory of the Israeli 2002 invasion.
In April 2002 5000 Israeli soldiers invaded the city and occupied its neighborhoods and refugee camps.
Nearly 1000 Palestinian resistance fighters were besieged in the old city of Nablus and clashed with the invading forces in defense of their city.
Dozens of Palestinians were killed during the invasion while several historical buildings and relics were destroyed by Israeli bombardment.
