Nablus village mourns Palestinian martyr

Saturday 5-November-2016

Hundreds of people took to the streets in the Palestinian village of Barqa in Nablus on Friday evening for the funeral of Raed Hajji who succumbed to wounds on Thursday that he sustained during a raid by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in 2002.

The funeral of Hajji whose body was wrapped in a Palestinian flag kicked off from the town’s mosque heading towards the local cemetery.

Hajji who was just 24 at the time he was injured was a former member of Palestinian security forces and a resident of the Nablus village of Burqa.

Following his injuries Hajji had permanently lost his ability to walk talk or move and was constantly undergoing treatment in hospitals for more than a decade until he was pronounced dead on Thursday.

On the other hand IOF soldiers arrested a Palestinian young man after brutally attacking him without any known reason at the entrance to Barqa town.

The young man was driving when he was stopped and violently beaten by Israeli forces.

He was then taken to an unknown detention center.
