A group of Jewish settlers attacked Palestinian shepherds in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil in the occupied West Bank local sources revealed Tuesday.
Coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committees Fuad al-Amour affirmed that the settlers attacked and stoned Amjad Al-Rabei while grazing sheep in Tuwani village.
Meanwhile a large number of settlers gathered at the entrance to the village.
Al-Amour stressed the urgent need to protect the Palestinian citizens in the area in light of the escalated settler attacks.
Meanwhile another group of settlers placed mobile houses (caravans) on Palestinian-owned lands in Qaryut village south of Nablus.
Under the Israeli army protection the settlers placed their mobile houses on an area of 100 dunums of agricultural lands south of Qaryut.
Local activist Bashar al-Qaryouti pointed out that the move came as part of the “Alon” settlement plan which aims to separate southern and northern parts of the West Bank by linking more than 17 Jewish-only settlement communities.
The plan will also pave the way for the confiscation of large Palestinian lands in the area he added.
