Number of prisoners on hunger strike has risen to seven

The number of Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike in the Israeli prisons has risen to seven after the prisoner Shadi Abu Aker 37 from Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem started a hunger strike six days ago rejecting his administrative detention.

The Palestinian Commission for Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs stated on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation forces arrested Abu Akar on 9/10/2020 an administrative detention order was issued against him and it was renewed again. He is currently being held in the Ofer detention center.

The prisoner Kayed al-Fusfous from Dura town in al-Khalil continues his hunger strike for the 48th day in a row while the prisoner Miqdad al-Qawasma from al-Khalil has been on hunger strike for the 40th day and the prisoner Ahmed Hamamra from Bethlehem is on strike for the 32nd consecutive day.

Meanwhile the engineer prisoner Alaa Al-Araj from Tulkarem entered his 23rd day of the strike and the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash 40 from al-Khalil is on hunger strike for the 15th consecutive day in addition to the prisoner Raiq Bisharat from Tubas who has entered his ninth day of the strike.
