Clashes were reported in various areas in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem on Friday night following protests against the Israeli attack on al-Aqsa Mosque and the Jewish settler groups’ storming scheme.
In al-Khalil Palestinian resistance fighters opened fire at a military watch tower erected at the entrance to Al-Aroub refugee camp north of the city. Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the camp following the incident.
Violent clashes broke out in Sa’ir town and Bab al-Zawiya area amid IOF heavy firing of teargas bombs.
In Nablus clashes erupted at Beit Furik checkpoint east of the city after IOF troops closed its entrance and restricted Palestinian movement. At least one young man was injured during the clashes.
Similar clashes were reported in Azzun town east of Qalqilya amid heavy presence of Israeli forces.
In Jericho clashes erupted at the northern entrance to Jericho during which the IOF soldiers fired a volley of tear gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets.
A young man was also injured in Bethlehem clashes while Palestinian young men threw Molotov cocktails towards the illegal settlement of Beitar Illit near the town of Nahalin.
In Occupied Jerusalem hundreds took to the streets after Taraweeh prayer in protest against the Israeli attack on al-Aqsa.
Dozens of citizens also gathered outside Al-Maskobiya investigation center in Jerusalem calling for the immediate release of those arrested during al-Aqsa attack.
Earlier on Friday 220 Palestinians were injured by the IOF during clashes in several areas of the West Bank.
