As part of its security coordination policy with Israeli army Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces helped thwart an anti-occupation attack allegedly planned to be carried out last Friday in al-Khalil.
Hebrew-language news site Walla said that Palestinian security services “passed precise information” to Israel about an explosive device placed near an Israeli army military post in al-Khalil.
The Yediot Ahranot newspaper added that the Palestinian forces identified the alleged attacker as a resident of the northern West Bank city of Qalqiliya leading to his detention before he could carry out the attack.
According to the Israeli media sources an improvised explosive device was allegedly found next to an army post in al-Khalil on Friday evening and was neutralized by Israeli forces.
Following the incident Israeli forces closed all entrances leading to the city while PA forces took the detainee for investigation.
