The Palestinian Authority (PA) security apparatuses in the West Bank continue to detain dozens of Palestinian citizens for politically motivated reasons and as part of their security cooperation with the Israeli occupation state.
According to Palestinian media sources there are about 50 citizens in different PA jails mostly in the notorious prison of Jericho. Those citizens are ex-detainees teachers university students and national figures.
Last Thursday PA forces in Nablus confiscated the personal gun of Mohamed al-Junaidi a wanted resistance fighter and kidnaped his elder brother.
Meanwhile the PA security authorities extended the detention of Waleed Ramadan an ex-detainee for 15 days after kidnaping him a few days ago from his home.
Some of the detainees have been in PA jails for long days or months mostly notably Sidqi al-Aqqad and Assem al-Shami who were kidnaped about 144 days ago.
For 19 days students from the Islamic Bloc the student wing of Hamas have been staging a sit-in on the Birzeit University campus to demand the release of their friends from PA jails.
