The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces over the past week have summoned and arrested hundreds of Hamas-affiliated activists.
Human rights sources told the PIC reporter that the PA campaign which followed the recent wave of anti-occupation operations in the West Bank is the most intense and most violent in years.
The sources said that some prisoners were released after two or three days of detention while dozens are still held in the PA lock-ups.
Nearly 300 Palestinians have been summoned or arrested by the PA security forces over the past few days according to the same sources.
