Renewed clashes broke out Friday night between young men and security forces from the Palestinian Authority (PA) at the entrance to Jenin refugee camp north of the West Bank.
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the confrontations happened near al-Zahraa neighborhood and the government hospital at the entrance to the camp.
They said that the young men closed roads with burning tires and hurled stones at the security forces who responded by firing live ammunition and tear gas.
Withdrawing empty-handed a large number of security forces stormed the camp once again at dawn Saturday and raided homes in search for wanted young men. Gunshots were heard during the campaign.
The tensions in West Bank refugee camps have bubbled to the surface recently because of the conflict over power within the Fatah Movement.
