The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) has said that the Palestinian prisoners in Etzion jail are suffering from harsh incarceration conditions inside very cold cells.
According to PPS lawyer Jacqueline Fararja on Tuesday the prisoners in Etzion are experiencing very tragic conditions nowadays due to the cold winter and their need for proper blankets describing the existing blankets as “thin damp and smelly.”
The suffering of the Palestinian detainees in Etzion recur every winter season in the prison which lacks the minimum conditions suitable for human life.
Prisoners told lawyer Fararja that they were repeatedly provided with expired meals.
One of the prisoners identified as Rami Jabbareen 34 also suffers a worsening health condition especially since he is in urgent need of surgery in his hand.
Etzion prison is one of the worst military detention centers where dozens of Palestinian prisoners are locked up in steel cells that become like refrigerators during the winter and ovens in the summer.
