Hundreds of UNRWA school students on Sunday flew kites in the sky of Khan Younis town in the southern Gaza Strip to mark the sixth anniversary of Japan earthquake and tsunami that killed thousands of Japanese people.
Massive crowds of students were gathered in Khan Younis Training Academy which is affiliated to UNRWA west of the city where kites with drawings of Palestinian and Japanese flags were flown.
Many kites had writings and slogans that express the dream of Gazan children to live in freedom and peace. Messages of love and greeting were also sent through those kites from the Palestinians to the the Japanese people.
The event was sponsored by UNRWA’s operations director in Gaza and the Japanese Ambassador to the Palestinian Authority Takeshi Okubo.
