Israeli forces on Tuesday afternoon arrested the Palestinian ex-detainee Anas Derbas his brother father and five Palestinians who were present in a gathering celebrating Derbas’s release from Israeli jails.
Local sources said that Israeli undercover soldiers arrested Anas Derbas 18 his brother Mohammed 31 and his father 60 as well as five Palestinian youths taking part in a welcoming ceremony organized for Derbas in al-Isawiya village in Jerusalem.
The sources added that violent clashes flared up in the area. A number of Palestinians were injured as the Israeli forces heavily fired live ammunition stun grenades and rubber-coated metal bullets during the arrest operation.
Anas Derbas was released on Tuesday after he served an eight-month sentence at Negev desert jail.
