Palestinian prisoner’s family warn of his health deterioration

The family of the imprisoned leader in Hamas Movement Sheikh Hassan Al-Wardian warned of his health deterioration as he continued to refuse medicines for the 22nd consecutive day on Wednesday.

The family expressed deep concern over his critical health situation saying that he is still enjoying high spirits.

Sheikh Hassan Al-Wardian from Bethlehem has stopped to take medicine in protest against his illegal administrative detention according to which he is held without charge or trial.

Sheikh Al-Wardian who has been held for 11 months in Israeli jails suffers from diabetes.

The leader in Hamas Movement was arrested in June 2021 after Israeli occuapton forces violently storming into his family house in Bethlehem.

His arrest came shortly after he declared his intention to run for the Palestinian legislative elections who was later indefinitely postponed by Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas.

Sheikh Al-Wardian 67 had earlier spent more than 20 years in Israeli jails.
