The Israeli prison authorities transferred on Wednesday evening the Palestinian detainee Firas Sawafta aged 35 to an unknown location for intensive questioning.
Palestinian prisoners in the Negev jail said the Israeli prison service updated them about their decision to transfer the deputy chief of the Prisoners’ Leadership Commission in Israeli jails Firas Sawafta from the Negev jail to another location so as to interrogate him.
According to the Muhjat al-Quds Foundation for Prisoners the decision came without prior notices and in such an abrupt way.
Born on October 20 1983 Firas Sawafta was kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces on July 23 2004 and sentenced to 17 years and 11 months in Israeli dungeons on account of his affiliation with the Islamic Jihad resistance movement in the occupied Palestinian territories and involvement in anti-occupation activities.
