The Higher Emergency Committee for Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prisons has called on the Palestinian people to support their protest steps scheduled to start on March 25.
The committee stressed in a statement on Monday the prisoners’ intention to go on a collective and open hunger strike starting from March 25 in protest against the Israeli punitive measures.
The committee further called on the Palestinian people to revolt in support of the prisoners’ just battle against the Israeli oppression.
The National Captive Movement had earlier declared it was preparing for a mass hunger strike in all Israeli jails stressing that the Palestinian prisoners’ struggle would continue until they restore their rights fully.
“The uprising of prisons has started to confront the repressive measures that the Israeli prison service has pursued against the prisoners” the Captive Movement said.
4500 Palestinian prisoners are currently languishing in Israeli jails including 34 women 180 minors and about 500 administrative detainees.
