Palestinian prisoners decide to continue their protest steps

Friday 4-March-2022

The Palestinian prisoners have decided to continue their protest steps in Israeli jails for the 26th consecutive day the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) revealed Thursday evening.

The prisoners’ decision came after a dialogue session with the Israeli prison administration which refused to remove the punitive measures in Nafha prison.

Thus the prisoners decided to continue their protest steps till meeting their full demands.

The prisoners also threatened to declare an open hunger strike on March 25 if their demands were not met.

Tension has been running high in Israeli jails as Palestinian prisoners decided to escalate their protest steps since the start of the year in rejection to the Israeli collective punitive measures declared after the Giloba prison break.

4500 Palestinian prisoners are currently held in Israeli jails including 34 women 180 minors and about 500 administrative detainees.
