The Palestinian Captive Movement decided to close all sections in all Israeli prisons in protest against Israeli repressive measures Asra Media Office said on Thursday.
A state of tension has been prevailing among the prisoners after Israeli prison authorities imposed a set of new sanctions the sources added.
The prisoners further threatened to escalate their protest steps in the coming hours if the Israeli punitive measures were not cancelled.
The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee pointed out that Israeli armed guards were deployed in large numbers in all prisons.
Earlier Wednesday Israeli guards raided several sections in the Ofer prison and brutally assaulted prisoners.
The Prisoners confirmed that the attack came suddenly and without any prior warning saying that the prison administration warned of further sanctions on the prisoners.
The attack came as a failed attempt to cancel the prisoners’ protest steps declared last week in all Israeli jails in protest at the repressive measures pursued against them in Israeli jails.
The Palestinian Captive Movement had earlier declared next Friday and Monday days of anger in all Israeli jails in protest at the repressive measures pursued against them in Israeli jails.
In a statement on Tuesday the Captive Movement called on the Palestinian people at home and abroad to hold activities in solidarity with them during these days.
Asra Media Office said that the Captive Movement also announced that the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails would refuse to go through the daily security check in Israeli jails as part of protest steps to be taken gradually during the coming days.
The Captive Movement recently decided to disband all its regulatory committees representing the prisoners after the Israeli prison service reneged on understandings reached following the Gilboa prison break in September 2021.
