Palestinian worker dies in Israeli police chase

Tuesday 23-April-2019

A Palestinian worker from Qabatiya town in Jenin died on Tuesday morning during an Israeli police chase in the Arab town of Arrabat al-Bottuf in the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that Mohammed Kmeil died after falling from a high place while trying to get away from the Israeli police.

The sources said that the Israeli police have carried out a raid campaign targeting facilities under construction in the 1948 occupied territories where West Bank Palestinians work without Israeli permits.

Kmeil fell and died while fleeing with other workers fearing detention by the Israeli police they added.

Hundreds of Palestinians work in the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories without permits and often the police detain them before sending them back to the occupied West Bank where work is more scarce and pay is much less.
