Palestinian crowds in Jenin city in the northern West Bank on Sunday afternoon paid farewell to martyr Ahmad Abu Ebaid who was killed Saturday night by Israeli gunfire. He was shot in violent clashes with Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in Berqin town in the wake of a failed assassination attempt that targeted Ahmad Jarrar al-Qassam Brigades fighter.
The funeral rally kicked off from the governmental hospital in the city and headed to Jenin grand mosque before arriving in al-shuhada (martyrs) cemetery in the eastern district of the city.
The participants chanted slogans praising the martyr along with Ahmad Jarar who has become a symbol of resistance.
A general strike prevailed in the city whereas commercial shops were closed as an expression of mourning for martyr Abu Ebaid.
