Palestinians mark Tireh massacre in Tulkarem

Friday 10-February-2017

The Palestinian people mark Friday (10/2/2017) the anniversary of Tireh massacre when seven Palestinians were massacred and five others were injured by Israeli forces during the mass expulsion of several hundred Palestinians from the village 69 years ago.

The massacre was carried out on December 10 1948 when 12 villagers returning to Tireh village near Tulkarem in a truck from selling cattle in the Petah Tikvah area were stopped by Israeli forces who then shot them.

Some sought refuge in a house but were followed and fired at. Seven were killed while the other five were injured during the attack.

The Palestinians are also expected to mark on Saturday 11/2/2017 the 13th anniversary of the Israeli attack on Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City.

On Feb. 11 2004 Israeli forces carried out a large-scale military operation in Shujaiya neighborhood leaving at least 12 Palestinians killed and dozens others injured.
