Palestinians performed Friday prayers in congregation in a sit-in tent pitched in al-Basateen neighborhood south of al-Aqsa Mosque.
Dozens joined the event which was staged to protest Israel’s demolition of the home of the Palestinian citizen Abdul Karim Abu Esneineh last week.
Speaking during the Khutbah (sermon) Sheikh Najeh Bkeirat warned of the escalated pace of Israel’s Judaization schemes against Occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.
Abdul Karim Abu Esneineh said he started the reconstruction of his demolished home calling on the international community to rally round the residents of al-Basateen neighborhood in Silwan.
