The health condition of Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid is still very critical while doctors have put him in a medically induced coma since he was admitted to the hospital about 17 days ago according to his brother Naji.
Abu Hamid has been kept in a state of unconsciousness due to an abnormal buildup of fluid in his lungs doctors in Barzilai Hospital told Naji.
Naji said that doctors also told him that they would decide in the coming hours how to remove the fluid accumulation in his brother’s lungs.
A few days ago doctors told Naji that his brother’s lungs were functioning at 30 percent of their capacity.
The prisoner has recently suffered from a serious health problem in his lungs but the Israeli prison service delayed his transfer to the hospital. He was also exposed to deliberate medical neglect over the past months.
