The wife of the Palestinian prisoner Maher Al-Akhras demanded during visiting him for the first time since he started a hunger strike that entered 69 successive days a serious intervention in her husband’s case to save his life before it is too late.
Akhras’s wife confirmed in a press statement on Saturday that his condition is extremely dangerous. She explained that he loses consciousness from time to time and he cannot move.
She added that her husband has seizures constantly and sometimes he does not know who is standing before him. His only condition for ending his hunger strike is freedom and he keeps saying from his bed at Kaplan Hospital “either freedom or martyrdom” she emphasized.
Akhras was re-arrested on July 27 2020 and sent to administrative detention for four months.
