The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs has accused the Israeli prison service (IPS) of medically neglecting Palestinian prisoner Jamal Amr from al-Khalil city who suffers from several health problems.
In a statement the Commission said that prisoner Amr 48 suffers from serious health problems in his liver kidneys and bowel.
According to its statement Amr has suspended his hunger strike recently after receiving Israeli pledges to provide him with appropriate treatment but the IPS still ignores his health suffering and his need for medical examinations in order to diagnose his conditions.
The prisoner has been in Israeli jails since 2004 serving a life sentence.
