Prisoner Qaderi on hunger strike for 11th day in row

Saturday 11-June-2022

Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation for Martyrs and Detainees confirmed on Saturday that the Palestinian prisoner Yacoub Qaderi is on an open-ended hunger strike for the 11th day in a row as a demand to regain his rights violated by the Israeli Ohalei Keidar prison administration.

Prisoner Qaderi who is held in solitary confinement revealed in a letter that he started his open-ended hunger strike on the 1st of June 2022 in protest at the decision of the Israeli prison administration to close his cantina account after it claimed that he had a debit of 7500 shekels.

Qaderi added that a two-month family visit ban and a two-week ban on going out to the prison yards were imposed on him in addition to imposing a fine of 250 shekels. He was also transferred to a new isolation cell which he labeled as a dumpster.

He added that elements of the Masada unit of the Israel Prison Service storm his cell every three days and that all these measures are taken to weaken his determination to end his hunger strike without regaining his rights.
