Palestinian groups on Wednesday staged a protest in Gaza city in support of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
First deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council Ahmad Bahar in a speech he delivered during the protest called on the Palestinians everywhere to support the prisoners in their battle with Israeli jailers.
Bahar called on international human rights organizations to make the necessary actions to stop Israel’s crimes against Palestinian detainees.
Bahar hailed the Palestinian prisoners and their families and affirmed that their issue is at the top of the Palestinian Legislative Council’s agenda.
For his part Khaled Abu Helal secretary-general of al-Ahrar Movement accused Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of using the Palestinian prisoners to boost his election chances.
Israel fears that the prisoners’ uprising in its jails might extend to all Palestinian territories he added.
