Qatayef is an ancient traditional dessert known in Lebanon Palestine Syria Jordan and Egypt. According to some sources making Qatayef dates back to the Abbasid Umayyad and Fatimid eras where some dessert makers used to compete in making and offering Qatayef to the Caliph.
