A rally was staged by the national committee to support Palestinian prisoners in Nablus in solidarity with the Palestinian MPs and activists held in Israeli prisons.
The rally-goers lifted pictures of the Palestinian MPs Khalida Jarrar and Mohamed Badr along with the activist Khitam Sa’afine and the hunger-striking detainee Mohamed Allan who have been locked up in Israeli jails.
A memo circulated by the General Union of Palestinian Women during the rally condemned the arrest of the union’s General Secretariat staff member Khitam al-Sa’afine and MP Khalida Jarrar.
The union called on the international community to urgently step in and take up its responsibility vis-à-vis the prisoners’ cause.
Khaled Mansour from the Palestinian People’s Party sounded the alarm over the escalated Israeli crackdowns and abduction sweeps targeting Palestinian MPs trade-union leaders and anti-occupation activists around the clock.
