The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Nablus held a photo exhibition on Wednesday to mark 50 years since the launch of its operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The exhibition included photos of Palestinian farmers and detainees’ families along with comments on the committee’s role in smoothing the farmers’ access to their lands and the families’ visits to their jailed relatives.
ICRC public relations chief Fahd Wahba said the event comes to mark 50 years since the inception of the committee’s humanitarian and relief operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
According to Wahba the exhibition entitled “Our Story with You” embodies the challenges and dreams shared by the committee and the Palestinian people.
He added that the event comes to emphasize the committee’s commitment to its humanitarian mission until the end of the Israeli occupation in line with the Geneva Convention.
Journalist Alaa Badarna stressed the importance of the exhibition in documenting and raising awareness about the tragedy endured by the Palestinian farmers for 50 years running.
